New Gundam series
A new Gundam series has just been announced:
GUNDAM 00 (Double-O).
Not much on it yet, except for a teaser video.

My first impression is that it looks waaaaay better than Gundam SEED, and most importantly the characters aren’t designed by Hisashi Hirai. The mecha design looks very unconventional, which is in my book, a good thing. Remember that Gundams tend to always look the same.
Another interesting thing is that they are using Anno Domini (AD) in the date shown at the start. Since this show is set in 2307 AD, this means it will take place in our timeline, 300 years from now.

(Does anyone else notice the resemblance of the logo to the James Bond 007 logo? D: )
The latest joke is that the last main to be shown has a resemblance to our friendly neighborhood Tendou Souji, the man who walks the path of heaven, the one to rule over all.
